Paige's Story

Currently, Paige studies photography at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA where she enjoys the challenges presented. At the moment she is preparing for a surgery that will change her life, and she needs your support.

During high school Paige was a normal girl; she enjoyed playing basketball, running, swimming, and other normal teenage activities. As she got older her bust grew and she began to feel increasingly uncomfortable. She stopped participating in activities that she had previously enjoyed. She says:

"When I started college I began to get comments from other women asking who my surgeon was because they thought that I had breast implants, and if I wear anything even slightly low cut or form-fitting I get inappropriate attention from some men. These comments have really eaten away at my self-confidence. The strange thing about the growth is that I am just not gaining weight, though my bust continues to grow. I just want to feel normal again."

Aside from the social implications, Paige has experienced back pain and injury. Her bust puts pressure on her chest and shoulders which then transfers to the neck and back, causing pain and headaches, limiting activity. Further, the weight of it causes her shoulders to roll forward, giving her a hunched over back. To combat all of these symptoms she needs weekly chiropractic treatment. Though even these cannot fully rid her of the pain.

There is only one permanent solution for the emotional and physical stresses created by her oversized bust: breast reduction surgery.

The Surgery and Surgeon

After three years of searching, Paige found Dr. Grant Stevens in Marina Del Rey, CA. She spent hours on his website, looking at the gallery and watching the videos of other womens' transformations. Convinced she had found the right doctor, she decided to make an appointment. During her consultation Dr. Stevens evaluated her and came to the conclusion that she would be a perfect candidate for breast reduction surgery.

Dr. Stevens is the creator of the Laser Bra procedure and has been practicing it for over 15 years. The surgery is an outpatient procedure and takes less than four hours to complete. Recovery time is eight weeks, but the majority of the swelling dissipates after a mere three weeks and patients can resume most of their normal activities.

Paige will be having the Laser Bra procedure performed by Dr. Stevens.

Donating

Fortunately, Paige's insurance provider is covering the majority of the costs, but what she is left to pay is still a large amount; $2400. $400 of her copayment is for post-operative care (bandages and scar prevention), and the rest goes toward the procedure itself.

Paige is asking for your support to help offset the cost of this needed procedure. In exchange for your contribution, a piece of art by Paige or one of her friends will be sent to you.
